What is Turning?
Turning is a manufacturing process that uses a CNC lathe or manual lathe to rotate a workpiece while a cutting tool removes material from the outer surface, creating cylindrical or conical shapes. This process allows the production of precise, symmetrical parts with smooth surfaces and tight tolerances because the workpiece’s rotation and the cutting tool’s movement are precisely controlled.
For reasons of this precision, symmetry, and efficiency, Turning is widely used in the production of automotive, aerospace, electronic, and mechanical parts, such as shafts, pins, and bushings.
